County Commissioner Ken Clark organized a whirlwind tour through Galveston County for majority leader of the U.S. House of Representatives, Republican from Sugar Land, Tom DeLay who was in County, Monday, meeting the some of the people who will be his new constituents. The tour included stops at Slone Lumber Co. in Santa Fe. Haak Winery in Santa Fe and Camp Good News in Hitchcock, Simms Elementary School in La Marque. and the New Beginnings Community Center in La Marque. The Congressman was greeted by enthusiastic crowds at each stop. Elected officials from Kemah to Jamaica Beach were also present for the occasion. |
