This
week's promise: God is in charge of the world
What kind of person makes a good leader?
He appointed judges throughout the nation in all
the fortified
cities, and he gave them these instructions: "Always think carefully
before pronouncing judgment. Remember that you do not judge to please
people but to please the Lord. He will be with you when you render the
verdict in each case that comes before you. Fear the Lord and judge
with care, for the Lord our God does not tolerate perverted justice,
partiality, or the taking of bribes.
2 Chronicles 19:5-7 NLT
Fit for
leadership
When Jehoshaphat appointed leaders for the people
of Israel, he told
them they would represent God in their decisions—a solemn
responsibility.
Second Timothy 2 describes the kind of person fit
for leadership.
Those who want to become leaders should ask God to develop these traits
in them: honesty, kindness, patience, purity, and integrity. Verses
24-25 explain:
The Lord's
servants must not quarrel
but must be kind to everyone. They must be able to teach effectively
and be patient with difficult people. They should gently teach those
who oppose the truth.
Leaders who teach God's Word have an even greater
responsibility to
use their authority carefully. Paul urged his friend Titus to model
Christian character and to guard his integrity. People watch Christian
leaders very carefully—they must be above reproach. Titus 2:7-8 and 15
state:
And you yourself
must be an example
to them by doing good deeds of every kind. Let everything you do
reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching. Let your
teaching be so correct that it can't be criticized.… You have the
authority to do this, so don't let anyone ignore or disregard what you
say.

Do the Democrats Want Money From Those Who
Support Terrorism?
by Alain
I believe the leaders of the Democratic Party may
all be working together to raise large amounts of money and influence
for the upcoming elections by courting the enemies of America.
Here are a few simple items from different sources
that lead me to this obvious conclusion.
GORE:
“While speaking to a Saudi audience, Gore told them that Arabs had been
“indiscriminately” rounded up by U.S. law enforcement after the
Islamists attacks on New York and the Pentagon. He complained that
Arabs were held in “unforgivable” conditions. Perhaps he forgot about
the smoldering ruins of the Twin Towers or the dead soldiers being
pulled from the Pentagon after a jet plane was crashed into the symbol
of America’s military might.” http://www.alainsnewsletter.com/article.php?id=38
This is of course out right treason against his
own country, the one he wanted so badly to be the leader of. Imagine
what kind of country we would be in now had he actually won?
BILL CLINTON:
”Former President Bill Clinton today called for the conviction of
European papers that published satirical cartoons of Muhammad,
according to reports in the Islamic press and elsewhere.
Clinton condemned the publication of the caricatures by European
newspapers and urged countries concerned to convict the publishers,
according to the reports.
He said religious convictions of the people should be respected at all
costs and no media should be allowed to play with the religious
sentiments of people of any faith.
"I strongly disagree with the creation and publication of cartoons that
are considered blasphemous by the Muslims around the world," he said.
"I thought it was a mistake." “
This man was a leader of America, the country with
the freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion
talking. Why is he saying these things in the land of Islam at this
point and time?
Do I even need to continue the list?
We have all read the headlines. There are just so
many, nearly every day now. Hillary Aiding and Abetting… Kennedy
bashing away. Carter...
These folks all have one goal, and this is not for
the betterment of Americans. It is a return to power by any means
possible, and to do this they are betraying America at every turn by
running to the Land of Islam and yelling "America is bad". "We feel for
all of you poor Islamists, you are so good, and america is so bad, the
Great Satan is what you call us right?"
“So you mean disagreeing with Bush makes one a
traitor?” Says the Lefty Liberal.
Hey Lefty, disagree all you want. But do not
endanger my family, ok? Leaders from America do not go and attack
America in foreign lands, especially lands that the current enemies we
are at war with come from.
What all Americans need to be asking themselves is
this: “What is this potential money and influence these liberal lefty
democrats are courting from Islam land going to cost?” What are they
promising to Islam behind the scenes?

KEN CLARK FILES FOR RE-ELECTION
LEAGUE CITY – Galveston County Commissioner Ken Clark filed for
re-election in the March Republican Primary today. Recognized by state
and national organizations as a consistent
voice for the local
governance of community issues; a strong leader and consensus builder
across the County, Ken Clark looks forward to serving Galveston
County’s Precinct 4 for a benchmark third term.
And it couldn’t have
come at a better time, agrees
Kevin Corcoran, Republican County Chairman. “We as a party
couldn’t be
more pleased that Ken Clark has decided to run for office again.
But
more so, we as citizens of the whole County are very happy that Ken
Clark, a person who has proven himself to support conservative
stewardship of our tax dollars, and work for efficient and effective
government, is willing to continue serving as our County Commissioner.”
Since first elected Precinct 4 County Commissioner 1998, Ken was
quickly named “The Hardest Working Commissioner in Galveston County.”
His leadership has drawn out the best and the brightest of the
community’s constituency, resources and ideas, as North Galveston
County has undergone a rapid development and growth, outpacing most
counties its size in population, improvements, capital growth and
overall financial health. Maintaining a literal open-door policy, and
focusing on smaller government and fiscal responsibility, Ken was
overwhelmingly reelected in 2002.
In addition to Precinct 4, Ken
represents Galveston County by currently serving on the
Inter-Governmental Relations Committee of the Conference of Urban
Counties, the Galveston County Mayors and Councilmen’s Association, and
the League City Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones 1, 2 and 3; serving
previously on the Houston-Galveston Area Council Transportation Policy
Committee. Recently appointed as a member of the CUC Oversight
Committee of the Common Integrated Justice System, Ken is leading the
County into the forefront of technological advances and efficiency,
starting in the new County Justice Center.
A strong conservative, Ken continues to commit his time and efforts to
building the vision and strength of the Galveston County Republican
Party, neighborhood by neighborhood; and has been recognized as the
Volunteer of the Year. A Presidential Elector in 2002, Ken is active in
the State Republican Party, previously serving on its Executive
Committee, and as Sergeant-at-Arms.
Ken Clark and his wife, Sherry, have made their family home in
Galveston County for the past 17 years.

Rep. Ron Paul

Congressman Ron Paul Files for Reelection
Republican Congressman Ron Paul of Surfside, has
announced he will seek reelection to the congressional seat he has
represented since 1996. The District 14 congressional seat covers ten
counties including Aransas, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Galveston,
Jackson, Matagorda, Victoria, Wharton and a portion of Fort Bend.
In announcing his reelection plans, Paul said he is
“honored to be able to represent the people of the 14th District in the
U.S. Congress” and said he was committed to continuing his work in
Washington for “lower taxes and smaller government.” The
congressman
said voters could be confident he would continue to be
would continue to be “The Taxpayers’
Best Friend” in Congress, a title bestowed upon him by the National
Taxpayers Union for his consistent votes to
lower taxes and reduce federal spending.
Congressman
Paul, a medical doctor who operated a
private practice as an OB-GYN in Brazoria County, said his agenda for
the next Congress would include such priorities as “reducing
out-of-control federal spending, working for greater tax relief for
over-burdened taxpayers, securing our borders and reducing illegal
immigration, protecting and improving Social Security, ending wasteful
foreign aid giveaways, and defending the liberty and freedom of all
Americans.”
Paul cited among his accomplishments
as District 14 Representative, maintaining a “first-rate congressional
staff that emphasizes constituent service and helps people resolve
problems with the government. Folks who have a problem with Social
Security, or veterans benefits or any federal agency,” said Paul, “know
they have a place to turn for help when they contact my local or
Washington offices.” Paul said the fact that the federal
government is so big and bureaucratic makes it even more important that
a congressman “have a staff that is committed to helping people cut
through red tape and resolve problems with the government.”

Bacarisse files for re-election HOUSTON
- Harris County District Clerk Charles Bacarisse filed for re-election
in the March Republican Primary today. Recognized by state and national
organizations as an innovator and leader in records management, I.T.
innovation and strategic planning, Bacarisse said he looks forward to
continuing his service to the citizens of Harris County.
"We have been good
stewards of county tax dollars, enhancing our Child
Support collection process, developing a criminal collections program
and planning our internal operations strategically, winning two "County
Best Practice Awards" from the Texas Association of Counties along the
way. That is good management and real leadership. I look forward to
continuing these practices as we make the office even more efficient
and customer friendly," Bacarisse said.

Bacarisse pointed to the major
progress the District Clerks Office has made in "e-government" by
moving more court files onto the office's website. "Now, through www.hcdistrictclerk.com, the
public can change their jury duty date, file documents in Civil and
Family law cases, as well as retrieve and purchase civil case files and
orders. We're taking the courthouse to the people. As we bring more of
our business onto the web, we've finally made the office accessible to
more citizens," Bacarisse explained.
As the same time, Bacarisse has led the District Clerks Office in
raising private and foundational dollars through an innovative
partnership with the Houston Bar Foundation to restore historic court
documents - some dating back to the founding court in the Republic of
Texas. "I like to say that we're making history and saving history, all
at the same time here in the District Clerks Office."
First elected District Clerk in 1994, Bacarisse serves on two
non-profit boards, has a leadership position in his church and coaches
his children's athletic teams. He and his wife, Jana Fay, are the
parents of two children.
Bacarisse is seeking his fourth term.
